More About
Rising Sun Productions
Rising Sun Productions was created by Zach Affolter, who recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Humboldt State University. Since the eighth grade, Zach has created videos about animal rights and environmental issues. Through his videos, he aims to create emotional connections between humans and animals, instill a sense of wonder and awe for the natural world, and empower people to save and protect it. Common video topics include the ethics of holding marine mammals (especially dolphins and other whales) in captivity, the dolphin slaughter in Taiji, whaling, and being able to recognize and appreciate the beauty present in the natural world.

Since its inception in 2010, Rising Sun Productions has released over 100 videos, garnering a total of over 1.2 million views. The channel was featured on The Stream, a TV show hosted by Al Jazeera America, with renowned activist Ric O'Barry. Rising Sun Productions has also worked with several animal rights organizations. Its work has been mentioned by the media on numerous occasions.
